The Walnut Tree Inn lies just on the edge of Mere in the South West corner of Wiltshire, a few minutes from Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Wincanton, Warminster and Longleat.

Run as a free house by your experienced hosts Mark and Samantha Cassidy, the pub and restaurant really does have something to offer for everyone.

Only a couple of minutes from the A303 and just 5 minutes by car to the famous ornamental gardens and house at Stourhead, The Walnut Tree Inn makes an ideal stopping off place on journeys to and from the west country.

Just 15 minutes by car to the famous Longleat Safari Park and House, and the Centerparcs resort, we are open all day every day to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the south west whether living here, staying on holiday or just passing through for an hour or two.

We offer an extensive menu full of traditional English pub food, with daily changing special’s and vegetarian food. We love to welcome families and have a children’s menu that is sure to satisfy even the fussiest of young guests. Our Sunday Carvery is well known throughout three counties now...booking is a must if you want an early sitting, but we serve all day so don’t panic..you won’t miss out!

The Walnut Tree also offers unrivalled comfort inside, first class facilities for al-fresco drinking and dining, excellent disabled access and services and a fantastic children's play park which is guaranteed to keep the youngsters happy!

We open Mon~Sat from 8.30 am serving freshly ground coffees and complementary papers, the full menu and specials board being served from 12 until 9pm every day.

We always have 4 cask ales on sale, some of which change weekly from breweries both local and national so if you like your beer from the cask then we'll always have something to suit. If wine's your tipple, then with a good range on our list from around the globe there should be plenty to please.
